Dzisiaj chciałabym Wam opowiedzieć o tym, czym kierować się przy łączeniu papierów z różnych kolekcji. Wbrew pozorom nie jest to takie trudne :) Bardzo lubię łączyć papiery i dodatki tego samego producenta (z różnych kolekcji) lub pochodzące od różnych producentów.
Ale od czego zacząć? Jakimi zasadami się kierować?

Today I would like to tell you about what to follow when combining papers from different collections. Contrary to popular belief, it is not that difficult :) I really like to combine papers and accessories from the same manufacturer (different collections) or from different manufacturers.
But where to start? What rules to follow?

Gdy znam już motyw przewodni pracy, styl oraz wiem dla kogo ma być wykonana praca wybieram pasujące do siebie arkusze papieru. Dobieram je kolorystycznie, tak by tworzyły spójną całość, uzupełniały się. Stawiam na 2, 3 kolory przewodnie. Mogą to być odcienie jednego koloru lub kolory pasujące do siebie. Tutaj opieram się na swoim doświadczeniu, zmyśle artystycznym, wyczuciu. Dokładam arkusze do siebie i sprawdzam czy „wszystko gra”. Jeśli nie – szukam dalej. Mixuję ze sobą papiery gładkie, jednokolorowe ze wzorzystymi, z różnymi deseniami.

Once I know the leitmotiv of the product, the style and for whom the work is to be done, I choose matching sheets of paper. I match them by color so that they form a coherent whole and complement each other. I bet on 2 or 3 guiding colors. It can be shades of one color or colors that match each other. Here I rely on my experience, artistic sense, intuition. I put the sheets together and check if "everything is fine". If not, I keep looking. I mix smooth papers, one color with patterned papers, with various patterns.

W moich pracach  staram się tworzyć warstwy, to znaczy na papierze ozdobnym, z wyrazistym wzorem umieszczam monochromatyczny, jednobarwny lub z delikatnym wzorem. Z reguły na takim właśnie „spokojniejszym” układam kompozycję z wyciętych elementów. Jednolite tło sprawia, że elementy są wyraźniejsze, wybijają się, a całość się nie zlewa.

In my projects  I try to create layers, i.e. on decorative paper with a distinctive pattern, I put monochrome, one-color or a delicate pattern. As a rule, on such a "calm" one, I arrange a composition of cut out elements. A uniform background makes the elements clearer, stand out, and the whole thing does not merge.

Czasem zdarza się że używam mocniejszego koloru. Aby nie zdominował on całkowicie projektu staram się go złagodzić. Najprostszym sposobem by to uzyskać jest wykorzystanie stonowanego koloru. Doskonale sprawdzają się w tej roli kolory biały, ecru, kremowy, nude.

Sometimes it happens that I use a stronger color. In order not to completely dominate the project, I try to soften it. The easiest way to achieve this is to use a subdued color. White, ecru, cream, nude colors are perfect for this role.

Kolejnym ważnym punktem, oprócz doboru pasujących do siebie kolorystycznie papierów jest dobór dodatków. Jak sobie poradzić z tym by praca miała spójny charakter? Najłatwiej jest powielić motyw lub kolor przewodni. Ta zasada jest szczególnie istotna jeśli tworzysz exploding box czy album. Zwielokrotnienie motywu lub kolorystyki sprawi, że praca będzie sprawiała wrażenie przemyślanej i harmonijnej.

Another important point, in addition to the selection of matching papers in terms of color, is the selection of accessories. How do you keep your work consistent? The easiest way is to duplicate a theme or theme color. This rule is especially important if you are creating an exploding box or album. Multiplying the theme or colors will make the work seem well-thought-out and harmonious.

Na zakończenie mam dla Ciebie propozycję zabawy. Zacznij swoją przygodę z wykorzystaniem kilku kolekcji od przygotowania kilku ATC – Artist Trading Cards. To małe karty o kształcie prostokąta i wymiarach 2,5×3,5 cala (czyli 8,9×6,4 cm). Na odwrocie kart umieszcza się takie dane jak imię i nazwisko autora, temat, datę stworzenia, ilość egzemplarzy w serii, czasem mail lub odnośniki do fanpage. Ja swoje przygotowałam na zjazd w Krakowie, gdzie podarowałam je koleżankom scraperkom. Użyłam papieru kraftowego jako bazy, ścinków z 2 kolekcji papierów jednego producenta oraz dodatków z różnych bloczków tak by wszystko pasowało do siebie.

 
Finally, I have a fun challenge for you. Start your adventure with the use of several collections by preparing several ATC - Artist Trading Cards. These are small rectangular cards 2.5×3.5 inches (or 8.9×6.4 cm). On the back of the cards there is information such as the name of the author, subject, date of creation, number of copies in the series, sometimes e-mail or links to the fanpage. I had prepared mine for the reunion in Krakow, where I gave them to my scrapper friends. I used kraft paper as a base and scraps from 2 collections of papers from one manufacturer and additions from different blocks so that everything fits together.
